$215.00 RRP
Thermomirror Demister Pads are an ultra-thin demister pad that provides a clear and condensation-free mirror even after a hot bath or shower. These pads are fully self-adhesive for attaching to the back of your mirror and have a single 240V connection point for easy installation. These demister pads are covered by a 10 year warranty.
The TM4170 is 410x700mm and is suitable for mirrors of 510x800mm or larger. It is designed to fit between hangers on wider mirrors. For more details see the FAQ section.
Typically a mirror fogs up due to the difference in temperature of the mirror and the temperature in the bathroom. The bathroom is warm from the shower or bath whilst the mirror is cold and this difference in temperature causes it to fog up. The mirror defogger warms the mirror to reduce the difference in temperature ensuring a steam free mirror in the bathroom.
How do I select the correct Thermomirror size?
When selecting a demister, you need to ensure that it is smaller than the size of your mirror. In a glue-to-wall application it is important there is a minimum of 100mm all around the demister to allow for adhesion between the mirror and the wall. In a screw-to-wall application, the demister needs to be small enough to ensure that it is out of the way of the screws or mounting brackets. Remember the demister only needs to be where you mainly look and the heat will spread slightly.
How do I operate my demister?
The demister can be connected to the lighting circuit in your bathroom, so it operates when your lights are on. Alternatively, it can be connected to a movement sensor located in the bathroom which can also be connected to your lights.
Can I install the demister myself?
The Thermomirror demisters are a 240Volt unit which need to be hardwired into the incoming electrical supply. This requires a qualified electrical and cannot be completed by someone without this qualification. For full installation instructions please refer to the installation guide.
Can I install a demister on a cabinet door?
We do not recommend the installation of a demister on a cabinet door due to difficulty with wiring and issues of effectiveness in this application. Typically, demisters would be installed on a wall and hardwired through that wall to the power supply, however if it was installed on a cabinet door, it would be difficult to wire up the demister in this way or to get power to the point where it is needed, as the cables will need to have slack and will be exposed. If the demister was on the back of the cabinet door and the mirror on the front, this would also not be very effective as the demister would struggle to heat through the thickness of the cabinet door and demist the mirror.
